New franchisee, Nikki Everiss, talks about what it's like to become a Professional Matchmaker:
I was really interested in becoming a Professional Matchmaker so started researching how it was even possible and where to begin. I soon came across The Professional Matchmaker franchise package online and straight away knew it was what I was looking for. I loved the branding, the website and was really excited, I got in touch straight away. I also knew that franchises have a higher success rate than starting up on your own.
Excellent listening skills, empathy and positive attitude. I think all of these are important as you are dealing with people’s emotions you need the client to feel that you are really listening to them and also understanding of any worries or concerns that they may have.
I also think being positive is really important because you want the client to be excited about the possibility of finding love and being in the right mind-set is key.
Being successful and learning new skills is really important as I’m really keen on personal development and I’m sure running my own business is going to push me out my comfort zone over and over.
The freedom of being able to work the hours I want to work, this is really important as I have a little boy and want to be around as much as possible, not being dictated by the usual 9-5 and the hour long commute.
I’m also excited about meeting new people and letting them know all about The Professional Matchmaker.
All of the team have been so welcoming and I feel like I get the best of both worlds as I’ll be working for myself but also have the support of an experienced and friendly team when I need it.
