Lyn began working as an investment banker before she changed her path and trained to become a primary school teacher. Her passion for nurturing curiosity and play based, child-led learning brought her to The Creation Station and she now runs award-winning, fun, creative art and craft classes, after-school clubs, parties and events for all ages in Watford and Rickmansworth.
We asked Lyn to share why she loved providing creative activities in her community - this is what she said:
"I have 15 years experience in Early Years Teaching but wanted to get back to the fun, creative stuff and focus on a new challenge. I still get to be involved in children's learning and development but I'm free from levels, grades and the pressure to get kids to do what they just aren't developmentally ready for."
"Everyone seemed so happy in their job and I wanted to feel like that again. There is so much support available and everyone is so helpful and approachable."
"I've had so many great moments already! That feeling when your Family Fun sessions sell out...the amazing feedback I've had from my newborn keepsake sessions...and how much I enjoy running our fantastic arts & crafts birthday parties. I also love how I am able to unleash my own creative side at our adult 'Creative Crafter' sessions."
"Very excited! My after-school 'Create Clubs' are taking off so I'm really keen to get established within more schools in North Watford and Richmansworth. I have a fantastic festive programme lined up with Christmas fairs and markets and am also doing some exciting work within school P.T.A's and with an SEN team"
