Sarah Dunn is a self-confessed craft 'dabbler' and president of her local Women's Institute. She is passionate about families connecting with each other and enjoying their time together.
Sarah was looking for a career that would enable her to enjoy the early years with her young family and now runs successful, award-winning, fun, creative art and craft classes, after-school clubs, parties and events for all ages in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
We asked Sarah to share why she loved providing creative activities in her community - this is what she said:
"Having two children in two years drastically changed my priorities. I didn't want to go back to an emotionally draining job with long working hours and miss out on my childrens' early years. Working for myself means I can choose the hours I want to work and plan it around my family"
"I love the ethos and brand values. Despite having little natural talent I still enjoy crafting and I think others would too if they had a go."
Creativity is so important...it gives us the opportunity to escape...for children this is just having the chance to be children and explore materials, shapes and colours without any rules or expectations. For adults this is time away from life, screens and 'to-do' lists and to just relax."
"I recently worked with the WE Wonder Festival. It was a real buzz being part of a fantastic family day. Whenever I looked up and saw crowds of families enjoying our activities it gave me that fuzzy feeling inside."
"Very excited! I have my first after-school 'Create Club' launching soon and can't wait to partner with other schools in Barnsley. I'm really looking forward to our upcoming festive program and my newborn 'Tiny Treasures' sessions are already incredibly busy."
