We asked Jo to share why she loved providing creative activities in her community - this is what she said:
"I've always been independent - that child who walks into school on their first day and doesn't even look back to wave goodbye! I like the flexibility of setting my own hours and organising my own time...as my own children are getting older, this is proving to be more important to me."
"Having things like website building, branding and health & safety done for me is fabulous! Although I love working for myself, I also really like having a network of people to talk to and share ideas with. Everyone at The Creation Station is so passionate about the benefits and importance of what we do - it's hard to argue with that level of pasion and enthusiasm."
"I believe that education is a pathway to success - but it needs to be suitable to each person. Some children thrive in an academic environment whilst others shine at a more practical education. Creativity is so important and spending time crafting is very therapeutic and good for the soul!"
"I have met so many lovely people and built many great working relationships. Every day is a highlight; it could be a review, a new booking, an enquiry or a child's comment. I once got a party enquiry that started "Hi, I am looking for a crafty party for my my daughter and have asked around. you are clearly THE person for arts and crafts as so many different people have recommended you!"
"I feel like I am still learning and probably always will! My plan is to eventually take over the world with Creation Station! I am working towards launching after-school 'Create Club' in schools in Lancaster and surrounding areas and am really excited about it - I would love to build the business to the point where I can employ someone to work with me!"
