Children's Coding Franchise Arrives in Shropshire

We’re delighted to announce the launch of Jam Coding Shropshire, led by new Area Director Joe Primarolo.

The launch brings high quality digital education to children and schools across Shropshire, helping young people develop essential skills for learning, work and life.

Meet Joe

Joe brings a diverse professional background to Jam Coding Shropshire. After graduating from university with a degree in French, he spent 17 years working as a trading analyst in the sports betting industry. With a long standing ambition to run his own business, Joe later became a franchise owner in the health sector and now operates two Hair Loss Clinics, which he continues alongside his work with Jam Coding.

Joe lives in Shrewsbury with his wife and two young sons, aged five and sixteen months. It was his experience as a parent that first led him to Jam Coding.

“My eldest son has always loved maths and problem solving,” Joe explains. “When I started looking for something to support his learning and challenge him further, I was surprised to find there was nothing suitable available locally. When I discovered Jam Coding, I realised there were no children's coding clubs or sessions in Shropshire, and that felt like a real missed opportunity.”

Learning Beyond Coding

Through Jam Coding Shropshire, children benefit from far more than learning how to code. Sessions are designed to develop a broad range of transferable skills that support children both in and out of the classroom.

“Coding teaches children how to work together as a team, how to think creatively and how to express themselves in their own unique way,” Joe explains. “They also learn how to try new skills, overcome challenges and realise they are capable of far more than they might expect.”

Teaching the Future in Shropshire

Since 2014, Jam Coding has been delivering essential digital and life skills to the next generation of digital citizens. In 2025, Jam Coding was named Learning Provider of the Year at The Learning Awards for its innovative computing curriculum, which supports teachers while providing children with engaging and memorable learning experiences.

Jam Coding Shropshire will work closely with schools and communities across the county, delivering curriculum aligned computing lessons, after school coding clubs, enrichment sessions, e-safety and digital citizenship education, holiday clubs and flexible school staffing solutions.
