A Strong Start for Kenton Tuition Centre Franchise

Six months on from starting her MagiKats Tuition Centre in Kenton, we caught up with franchise owner and Principal, Swati Shukla, to find out how it’s all going.   

Swati joined MagiKats at the start of the school year whilst still working full time as a teacher and raising her young family. Since then, the centre has quickly established itself and has a growing presence in the local community, supporting children of all ages and abilities with structured, confidence-building tuition. She said, “I set an ambitious target of breaking even within the first three months of my business and I am delighted that I’ve been able to exceed this by some margin.” 

The new business is a family affair, with Swati’s husband, Jigar, supporting the business’ growth by assisting with the marketing and promotion of the Tuition Centre. Swati said, “Starting a new business is hard work and so it was really important that we made the decision together as a family. Jigar has been as enthusiastic about the opportunity as I am and so this has made our first six months really enjoyable. We’ve attended local events and used marketing materials from HQ to help spread awareness, and feedback from parents has been really positive. The business model is flexible, so I decided to run my tuition workshops on Friday afternoons after school and Saturday mornings so that it doesn’t interfere with my school teaching, but still gives options to parents so they can choose a workshop that suits them. I love being able to provide focused support and the small group workshop environment is great at helping children engage with what’s being taught.”

Swati explains how she decided MagiKats was right for her, “I first came across MagiKats while exploring tuition business opportunities that offered a structured, supportive, and values-driven approach to learning. My long-term goal is to expand to nearby areas and continue making a meaningful impact on young learners’ confidence, academic achievement, and personal growth.”
