Snap-on has been recognised with two highly-coveted business accolades, for innovation and international trade.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business honours in the UK, with just six other companies being chosen in multiple categories. Winners of The Queen’s Awards can expect an invitation to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace.
The award for Innovation was presented in recognition of Snap-on’s all-in-one repair information resource, SureTrack™. Following feedback from regular customers working in the automotive industry, Snap-on created an information system designed to work with existing diagnostic equipment. This device brings together a unique combination of intelligence and expertise to help aftermarket automotive garages increase accuracy and efficiency from diagnosis to completed repair.
In a bid to provide practical and rapid solutions which fall ahead of the curve, Snap-on took the needs of its franchisees into consideration. The rapid growth in the technology used in the production of cars has highlighted the need for a different approach to vehicle diagnosis and repair.
Technicians are likely to encounter multiple interdependent fault codes, hundreds of live data points, graphs, and eye-crossing diagrams when cars are coming into their garages. In short – with too much information available, the biggest challenge is to find and follow the right clues.
“When we develop our software our aim is to try and ensure that a workshop and technician’s life is made easier, and that they can work productively and carry out first time fixes on the vehicles that are coming into their garages. This makes the workshop more efficient and profitable.”
The SureTrack information resource, with thousands of real fixes and top repairs, is a great example of how Snap-on is trying to make the franchisee and the technician’s life easier – by providing a solution to a long-term issue.

In line with this continued growth, both in the UK and internationally, the franchisor was awarded a further accolade for International Trade. This award is given to corporations who can demonstrate substantial growth and commercial success oversees, contributing to the British economy and – in terms of Snap-on – growth in both the tool and franchising industries.
