Q&A with Jam Coding Franchise Founder, Roger Grogen

• How is Jam Coding different from other similar franchises in the UK?

What makes Jam Coding different is that we're not simply running after-school coding clubs. We have built a complete digital education ecosystem that supports schools, children, families and communities. Our multi-award-winning curriculum is designed specifically for primary-aged children and is aligned with the needs of modern education.

We also offer multiple revenue streams, including school workshops, curriculum-based study, after-school clubs, holiday programmes and our newest product; Computing Labs, creating a scalable business model with strong recurring income opportunities. Most importantly, we're helping address a genuine national need by equipping children with the digital skills required to thrive in the future using lessons and activities that motivate and encourage them to take their studies further.

• What is your biggest achievement at Jam Coding so far?

Without doubt, our biggest achievement has been the impact we've had on children. Since launching, we've helped hundreds of thousands of young people develop confidence in technology, creativity, problem-solving and digital literacy. In 2025 alone, we delivered digital sessions to over 400,000 young people.

From a business perspective, I'm incredibly proud that we've grown from a single vision into an internationally recognised education company with franchise partners across the UK, supporting schools and communities every day. Seeing children become excited about technology and watching franchisees build successful businesses with real purpose is hugely rewarding.

• What is the best feedback you have heard about your brand?

The feedback that means the most to me is when teachers tell us we've transformed their perception of digital education and as a result children’s attitude to learning about the subject. We regularly hear stories about children who lacked confidence discovering a talent for coding, robotics or digital creativity through our programmes.

Equally, hearing franchisees say that joining Jam Coding has given them both a successful business and a genuine sense of purpose reinforces everything we're trying to achieve. We're not just teaching coding; we're helping to shape the futures of the children we teach and adults who have become part of our growing network.

From initial discovery conversations through training and launch, we work closely with every new partner to ensure they're fully prepared and confident before entering their territory.
