Alan Harrison is the longest-standing franchisees
For Alan, his passion for computing education and pride in growing his business has driven the creation of an award-winning enterprise.
As one of the longer-standing franchisees for ComputerXplorers, Alan Harrison, who runs the West Surrey branch is dedicated not only to his own business, but the continual improvement and advancement of the entire ComputerXplorers’ network.
With a background in sales and marketing, Alan has transferred his skills across to running a franchise with great success, rapidly growing his business in terms of both number of activities on offer and the number of schools being serviced. His passion for making a difference in children’s technology education has fuelled this growth and has led to him partnering with other local charities and initiatives to bring ComputerXplorers classes to those who might otherwise be unable to access these extracurricular activities.
Alan also has a significant role in the wider ComputerXplorers network. He has been instrumental in the creation of the ComputerXplorers Curriculum Advisory Group (CAG), which reviews the current curriculum to identify new opportunities and drive the delivery of new curricular activities, and he plays a key part in the vetting and supporting new franchisees, including acting as franchise support across the whole UK network.
Alan’s hard work and success were deservedly recognised in 2023 when he was made the proud recipient of a Great British Franchisee Award.
Alan says, “My business is my passion and bringing computing education to as many children as possible is something I feel is incredibly important. Preparing youngsters for the job roles and digital world that awaits them is the best way I can think of to help give them a head start in life and it is also key to do this in a fun, creative way that will really engage their minds and encourage ways to bring out their imaginations to help them problem solve and innovate through digital technology. I am proud to be a part of the ComputerXplorers network and I will continue to do my utmost to help and support others who are looking to join the franchise and become a part of our wider team.”
