Trophy Pet Foods  -Matthew and Joanne CoseHi, we are Matt and Joanne from Newton Abbot in Devon. We have had a Trophy franchise since June 2010 and have never looked back.

My last profession was completely different as I used to be a Funeral Director and my wife Joanne worked in Retail. After 20 years of working for someone else, we decided we wanted to put our efforts into our own business.

I attended the nutritional training and started building the business until it grew to a size where Joanne needed to leave her job and help with the paperwork and day to day organisation of the business.

I enjoy meeting people and their pets and have built up a good relationship with my customers that can only benefit all concerned. A love of animals and a desire to see them thrive on the best food around is one of the main qualities you need.

We are very big on customer service and have a very loyal customer base that reflects this. We can plan out the day on our own terms and the support we get from Head Office is always friendly, never too much trouble and the advice is invaluable.

You will lose some spare time, as in any business, but you will find it is worth making the odd sacrifice. We find Trophy a great way of earning a living as it gives us the freedom to choose our own working hours and we like being our own boss.

It would not be right to say that it is a get rich quick option in the financial sense, but the quality of life is priceless. Hard work and at times long hours are needed to develop the business and to keep it moving forward. Business development opportunities do eat into the evenings and weekends, but the end results are enjoyable.

Trophy provides a good, healthy nutritionally based food; a home delivery service and all the foods are competitively priced.
