Domestic housekeeping franchise business Bright & Beautiful has been shortlisted in three categories in the prestigious Best Business Women Awards, which are designed to recognise the achievement of women across a wide range of business categories in the UK.
Bright & Beautiful founder Rachel Ray is a finalist in both the Best Business and the Best Franchisor categories and Sarah Reeves from Buckinghamshire, is shortlisted in the Best Franchisee category.
Sarah runs the company’s Aylesbury franchise and joined Bright & Beautiful in 2012 as a single mum who had been made redundant twice. She has gone on to grow a highly successful business that employs a team of 12 and was named the company’s Franchisee of the Year in 2015.
Bright & Beautiful’s place on the shortlist recognizes both the ethos and the consistent growth of the business which Rachel launched in 2007 to provide eco-friendly cleaning, tidying, laundry and ironing; with the highest standards of security and service. Since then the company has grown rapidly and now has 55 franchises nationwide, employs over 500 people and has a £5m turnover.
"Bright & Beautiful has always been all about supporting and empowering women which is why it is so great that the fact that our innovative and ethical franchise model has been recognized by our place on the shortlist for these three Best Business Women Awards. To be in the company of so many other business women who have contributed so much to the world of work and to creating new and different ways of working is a real honour.
One of our major achievements from the past nine years is that we are able to support and empower so many women – from our clients who need their homes cared for so they can enjoy their free time to our teams who have fair employment rights and flexible working hours and our franchisees like Sarah who can build their own profitable family friendly businesses."
Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women Awards, said:
"We were delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To be a finalist is a major achievement. Finalists have been selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity. Over 80% of start-ups fail in the first 3 years and all our finalists are all shining examples of being successful entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges."
The gala final of The Best Business Women Awards will be held on 20th October 2016 at Tewin Bury Farm, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, the winners will be announced at the final.
The award winning Bright & Beautiful business model is based around a franchise system that trains women across the UK to manage a team of specialist professional housekeepers. All of the franchises are owned and run by businesswomen who wanted to step off the corporate ladder and enjoy both their work and home lives, leaving behind the torn loyalties and guilt that can often result from trying to juggle the two.
