Mike has never really stood still for long. At the tender age of nine he moved with his family to Holland and later Belgium due to his father’s job. Mr Lowe senior spent 30 years working for Shell, a situation that Mike could never envisage for himself. Mike’s itchy feet even meant that he’d never managed more than one year in a single job, until World Options.
A course in Business and Public Relations, various jobs including working for a firm building hospitality suites for F1 and as an account manager with courier City Link, Mike knew he wanted the freedom that comes from being your own boss.
After his initial meeting with the World Options franchise team one Friday, Mike went to work the following Monday morning, handed his notice in and by the afternoon had already signed up his first three clients. From that point, only two years ago, things have gone from hard work and late nights to a very profitable franchise that now keeps Mike in the manner to which he now feels very comfortable.
Mike had already used World Options’ tool ‘Portal’ in his time with City Link. The Portal is an incredible multi-carrier platform which makes quoting simple, allows booking, offers POD (proof of delivery) and indeed all you could possibly need to run a franchise from your own home. So impressed with the Portal, Mike knew that running his own World Options franchise was the way to make his dreams come true.
Mike admits that the early days sometimes began 8am and didn’t finish until midnight. He began his franchise from an old people’s home with a steady run of bacon sandwiches and coffee but he now enjoys days on the golf course, the freedom to do exactly what he wants to and the knowledge that he has a steady and very profitable income flowing in. All that in just two years.
"There was never a moment I didn’t believe it wouldn’t work" said Mike.
