Michele Buckley joined the Raring2go! franchise network, the publishers of a quarterly magazine which provides parents and carers of primary school children with a definitive hyper local guide of what to do and where to go.
Bolton-based Michele is no stranger to franchising having run another franchise business Rugby Tots. She will continue to run this alongside her Raring2go! franchise.
I first took on a franchise business after having children. My previous career in insurance was difficult to manage on a part-time basis and I needed something that allowed me to work from home and have more flexible hours. I looked at some other franchise opportunities but Raring2go! seemed to offer the best fit. I found it very easy to deal with Raring2go! I filled in the on line form and was emailed very quickly. After receiving some information I went ahead with meeting Freddie St. George and Trish Holder, who then arranged for me to talk with some other franchisees in the North West.
I was already familiar with the company as I had advertised with Raring2go! ever since I took on my first franchise business. I was looking for a new challenge where I could use the experience I already had in running my own business. When I contacted them they were very professional and the information provided was comprehensive and realistic. It helped that I was already familiar with the franchise model and appreciated the commitment needed to run and grow a small business. Also as an existing advertiser I knew what advertisers would be looking for. Other franchisees have been really supportive, which is a massive help, as there is a lot to learn. I am optimistic that it will live up to expectation, especially as my knowledge and skills develop. My hope is that it will help me achieve the right work/life balance, whilst helping provide financially for my family.
Raring2go! franchisees generate income by selling advertising space in the magazine and online to local companies. Production, printing and distribution of the magazine is carried out centrally by the franchisor and a full business start up and on-going training and support package is provided.
