Having been an IT manager in London for several years, Trish Nawacki was attracted to the concept of MAD Academy when she attended a session with her daughter.
After the birth of her second child, a career that would allow her to spend more time with her young family was very appealing.
“I could see what a great opportunity a MAD Academy franchise would offer me. Combining my love of music with my teaching and business skills would mean I could have the best of both worlds. It was daunting being the very first franchisee but I was so impressed by the personalities involved in MAD and the principles behind the classes that I was really keen to become part of the team,” said Trish.
Six years on and running 24 classes a week, Trish has no regrets whatsoever. “Running your own business is hard work, but it also offers the rewards of being your own boss and choosing your own hours to enable you to work around family commitments. It also gives you the opportunity to benefit from your own hard work which does not always happen when you are working for someone else.
“Best thing about the job is being able to pass on my gift of music and dance to these wonderful little people and know that things they learn in my class like rhythm and love of dance will stay with them for their whole lives. When I go into my classes and nurseries, the children are always so ecstatically happy and excited to see me.
It does not matter what mood I am in when I go to work, to be greeted with so many smiles is sure to be uplifting. It is also great to be doing such and active job in terms of my own general health and fitness,” Trish enthused.
