Tracey Wheat Brings Health Conscious Housekeeping To Wolverhampton

12th January 2017

Tracey Wheat is swapping cats and dogs for cleaning and ironing as she launches her own Bright & Beautiful business.

Wolverhampton mum Tracey Wheat has dedicated her working life to caring for animals, working as a veterinary nurse for over 28 years. But now she is swapping cats and dogs for cleaning and ironing as she launches her own eco-friendly domestic homecare business.

Bright & Beautiful - Tracey WheatTracey began her veterinary career aged 16 at St. George’s Vets in Wolverhampton and worked her way up from veterinary nurse to nursing manager, in charge of a team of 26 veterinary nurses and animal care assistants working over six sites across the city. After her second child she returned to work part time as assistant hospital manager, overseeing health and safety for St. Georges.

After the birth of her second child Tracey decided that the time was right to start up her own business that would give her both a new challenge and more flexibility in her working life. Tracey’s new Bright & Beautiful business will bring a very different domestic housekeeping service to the area, using only eco-friendly and non-toxic products and delivering ethical, professional and eco-friendly cleaning, tidying and laundry services. Tracey will also be creating a number of jobs for other women and men who want to have a career but not at the expense of family life.

Tracey says:
"Although a veterinary practice and a housekeeping business may seem very different there are a surprising number of similarities, from managing clients and teams to the importance of cleanliness and order. Both businesses also make a difference and improve lives – from doing a great job for my clients who value their time, to training my team of professional housekeepers to be the best in class, to being able to build a business that allows me and my team to enjoy work and home life equally.

Equally important to me is the eco-friendly ethos behind all our housekeeping and management practices, especially at a time when allergies are on the increase. The average home now has over 60 toxic chemicals in it, so we make a point of only using non-toxic and green products to really support the health of our clients, their children and pets."

Tracey’s new business will also be supporting Promise Dreams, a charity that supports an orphanage in Africa that also supports and helps street children.

Bright & Beautiful is an award-winning business model that was founded by entrepreneur Rachel Ray in 2007. A busy working mum herself, Rachel spotted a gap in the market for a domestic cleaning company that provided full fair employment rights for its team, non-toxic cleaning products and an exceptional housekeeping service for its clients. Since then the business has grown from strength to strength with franchisees around the UK employing carefully vetted professional housekeepers and servicing thousands of clients.
