Ambience Teesside Stylists One Year On!

Emma and Adam joined Ambience back in July 2017. We had a catch up with them and they begin to tell us their experience so far as being the owners of Ambience Teesside…

Ambience | Emma and Adam"Working in Ambience Teesside over the last year has been great. We are so happy with the progress of the business over the last year and can see the potential it has over the next couple of years. Working together as a couple has been challenging at times but we both love where the business is at the moment and where it is going. It’s hard sometimes to separate work life with personal life and something we have to make a real effort to do! We love working for ourselves and the flexibility it brings."

Emma and Adam share their experience of styling their first wedding…

"The first wedding we styled was in September last year at Wynyard Hall and it was beautiful. It was a last minute booking due to the bride being let down by another company and so we provided cream linen sashes, gold tea lights and cylinder vases with floating candles in them to sit along the top table and we were really happy with how it went. Most importantly the bride and groom were thrilled with how it all looked.

It really made us feel a sense of pride of what we had achieved when it was all set up and was excited and nervous all at the same time to hear what the bride and groom thought of it.

The feedback we received from this booking was brilliant and really made us raring to go for the wedding season and gave us a real boost and confidence for the upcoming months in our new business."

We asked the couple what the most important lesson is that they have learnt so far in the wedding industry and where they see their business in 3 years time…

"The most important lesson we have learned this year is to not under value your items. It’s hard sometimes to know what price to put things at and to not be tempted to undercut your prices when you see other companies on social media offering what we like ‘to call too good to be true’ prices. We have to remind ourselves that we are providing a bespoke service and that our products are of a high quality. If there is one time that couples shouldn’t cut corners it’s on their wedding day, they don’t want to look back at it in years to come and regret anything about it. As we also like to say, buy cheap buy twice.

For the future, we would love to be the “go to” venue stylist company in our area, to have a very good reputation for keeping up with the latest trends and be always one step in front of our competitors. Even perhaps have to employ some Saturday staff to cope with the demand!"

Emma and Adam tell us the dream wedding venue that they would love to work at…

"We have already worked at our dream venues in our area! Here are some to name a few, Yorkshire Wedding Barn, Rockliffe Hall, Wynyard Hall, Rudby Hall and Middleton Lodge."
