The Franchise

The Franchisor

Managing Director is Lynne Lister who was the Editor of Business Franchise Magazine, the official journal of the British Franchise Association from 1992 to 2002. Initial Training

The Training Department, which is based at HQ in Warrington, delivers a programme that addresses every aspect of X-Press Legal Services, according to a detailed syllabus based on the Franchise Operating Manual, which is provided during training and subsequently updated as necessary to provide an instant source of reference. Everything you need to know about the personal search processes and client reporting functions is covered. In addition, with a view to your developing a well organised and profitable business, meaningful guidance is provided on marketing, administration and accounting.

Getting Started

The establishment inventory is unusually comprehensive and to keep overheads to a minimum, you can begin operating from an office at your home. A local marketing campaign will aim to inform your prospective clients that you have arrived and “open the door” for you to visit them. Following on from your initial training, a member of the Franchisee Support Team will spend time with you to ease your transition into operational mode.

Developing

If you replicate the success of the core business and attract a large clientele, there will come a time when you are unable to cope on your own. Employment of one or more members of staff (members of your own family, quite possibly) will become a necessity, at which point you may contemplate a move to a separate office. Remember that in pursuing these positive initiatives, you are not alone. As franchisor we are here to provide continuing support, with regular meetings and advice and guidance on all business matters.

Financial Information

An X-Press franchise costs £24,500 plus working capital. Typical liquid capital is quoted at £15,000. The package includes all training, computer hardware and software, specialist maps and directories, stationery, equipment and local launch marketing campaign. 

Who's Ideal for Us

A background in a related sphere of activity is not a requirement given the thoroughness of our training. More important is a career or background in which you have been working with computers, dealing with paperwork, or possibly running an efficient department or office.

You must be a good communicator so as to build your client base initially and, ongoing, maintain close liaison with each client so as to build a strong relationship and high degree of repeat business. To achieve this, you obviously have to be prepared to travel locally and not be “desk bound”. You must feel comfortable in delivering high quality service to professional clients. And last but not least, you need to have ambition to grow your business as client workload increases.
