Franchise package:

Urban Planters has a tried and tested business formula, so our franchisees start in a structured and efficient business from day one.

Each franchisee benefits from a large and exclusive operating territory with a potential turnover of £500,000.

Franchisees are encouraged to aim for agreements of one to ten years with clients, providing a fast build-up of regular income. The quarterly, in-advance billing system (standard in the interior landscaping industry) provides a strong cash flow for franchisees, particularly vital in the all-important first years of trading.

Our franchisees are part of a large, national team with an industry-established brand which allows you to benefit national sales and marketing campaigns, while at the same time enjoying the many freedoms of running your own business.

Urban Planters understands the value of personal development and its training and rewards system is designed to encourage professional growth. It provides high quality in-house training in sales, marketing, business development and the selection, installation and maintenance of plants. The training meets ‘Investor in People’ standards and there is a popular in-house NVQ programme.

There is much more to the job than installing and looking after plants: interior landscape design is constantly evolving, with a lot of scope for creative schemes. Even the selection process can involve taking customers to Holland to select specimens from Dutch hothouses.

Franchisee profile:

We are looking for people located in or prepared to move to an available, territory with sufficient capital to invest, which, together with bank support, allows for the development of the business and personal drawings.

While sales experience is not a requirement, it is essential that franchisees have an aptitude for sales and are disciplined self-starters, happy to get out and meet prospective clients to secure contracts.

In fact, much of the franchisees’ time is spent growing the business, by seeking out new clients and ensuring existing ones are happy.

Knowledge of plants is not essential when joining Urban Planters: the training and support from the franchisor ensures the franchisee has all the required horticultural knowledge.
