The Pauline Quirke Academy (PQA) is a weekend Performing Arts Business providing tuition for children and young people from 4-18 years. PQA was started by actress Pauline Quirke and her producer husband Steve Sheen in 2007 with an Academy in their local town Beaconsfield.

The Academy proved to be a very successful venture and led to further openings over the years now totalling 100 Academies in 77 locations nationwide. PQA teach nearly 7,000 children across the country the delights and disciplines of comedy and drama, musical theatre and film & television.

The Opportunity:

This is a management franchise opportunity. PQA Principals will interview and recruit experienced professionals within the performing arts as teachers, and regularly assess their tuition.

Principals have an expert knowledge of their areas and therefore are responsible for finding and hiring a suitable venue. PQA advise as to the criteria required and are happy to help with negotiation’s and signing off venues.

Responsibilities of a Principal:

  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality tuition, showcases and performance opportunities to  their students
  • To provide excellent customer care to the students and parents
  • To creatively lead their Academy
  • Local marketing and PR activities
  • Updating their local social media pages on a regular basis
  • Updating their microsite on an ongoing basis
  • Following up enquiries and booking taster sessions (reports and support provided)
  • Paying the venue and their teachers
  • Complete and supply (with their teachers) individual student reports on an annual basis
  • Attend the Academy every week
  • Ensure all safeguarding and compliance requirements are up to the highest standards
  • Regular communication with HQ and parents
