Silver Anniversary for FASTSIGNS® Duo

"Running a business with your family is great and we know we can absolutely trust and rely on each other to create a thriving business.” Richard Towers - FASTSIGNS Franchisee
Not many people could jointly run a business with family and friends, but that’s exactly what the four owners of the local Peterborough FASTSIGNS® sign and graphics centre have been doing for the last 25 years.

Richard and Linda Towers bought the business with Richard’s sister and brother-in-law, Michele and Alan Reaveley, 18 months ago. Until then, the foursome had successfully co-owned two fish and chip shops in Peterborough.

FASTSIGNS specialises in supplying signage and graphics, such as indoor and outdoor banners, vehicle graphics and pop-up displays to organisations throughout the area. One of the centre’s latest projects was for Peterborough City Council’s READ.WRITE.inspire literacy campaign. The FASTSIGNS staff ‘wrapped’ bright pink graphics around a taxi, to promote the campaign across the city.

Michele commented: “FASTSIGNS is clearly a very different kind of business from the fish and chip shops we used to run, but we all love the challenge. The main difference, aside from the product, is that we’re now dealing with business customers, rather than the public, so we’ve launched a marketing drive to tell people what we do and it’s working really well.”

“Because we’ve already been business owners for a significant number of years, we know Peterborough well and that’s definitely helped us get a head start,” continued Michele. “It means we can work on projects like READ.WRITE.inspire, which really make a difference within the local community we serve.”

Richard added: “Running a business with your family is great and one of the main benefits is that we know we can absolutely trust and rely on each other. We’re all equal partners and are not afraid of putting in 110 per cent to create a thriving business.”
