As food and catering industry bible The Caterer.com looks at food and dining trends for 2016, it is confirmed that Jasper’s is right on track with its diverse range of buffet catering experiences.

Firstly, the Caterer says to look out for more bowl food, so Jasper’s Bamboo range of contemporary bowl food fits the bill perfectly. As the Caterer says: “Even plates are now bowls”!

Through their work with the Association of UK Dieticians, Jasper's announced months ago that sugar is the main food enemy. The Caterer remarks that “Sugar continues to be demonised as we are searching to ‘lighten up’ the sweetening of food and drinks with less processed alternatives such as tree syrups, dates and honey.” This follows the advice of the British Association of Dieticians and is something that Jasper's are seeing in many new recipes by celebrity chefs, both well established ones like Jamie Oliver (whose most recent book is on ‘Superfoods’) and emerging celebrity chefs such as Deliciously Ella.

The Caterer says that “Plant and vegetable-based meals and ingredients are fast becoming the fashionable, healthy and ethical choice.” With the Director of Jasper’s a committed vegetarian himself, and by being accredited by the Vegetarian Society, Jasper's are always looking to extend their vegetarian buffet food choices (available in all their ranges: Traditional Buffet Catering, Hot Food, Bamboo, Tapas and Picnic). With their new healthy snacking solutions - Snack Shack and Snack Boxes - Jasper’s are also introducing nutritious brain and body food into offices for healthy snacking.

In terms of cuisines to look out for in 2016, the Caterer says that Mexican will be a winner “capturing the imagination of top chefs around the world”, something that Jasper's have tapped into with their Tapas range – marrying tasty South American and Spanish tapas-style buffet food served in traditional ceramic cazuelas and on Jasper's own oak boards.

And the top food colour in 2016? It’s black! From black rice and squid ink pasta to charcoal shakes. Don’t think they’re quite ready for that last one at Jasper’s yet though!
