Bright & Beautiful Hindhead will now be looking after local homes and families creating a number of flexible working job opportunities for local women and men.
Mum of three Karen Whiteley has spent the last ten years living in some of the world’s most glamorous and exotic destinations but has finally come home to set up her own domestic cleaning and homecare franchise business.
Bright & Beautiful Hindhead will now be looking after local homes and families, using only non-toxic and eco-friendly cleaning products and equipment and creating a number of flexible working job opportunities for local women and men.
Whilst living for three years in Moscow and seven in New Delhi, Karen and her family dreamt of escaping the greyness of Russia and the heat of India, and finally found their dream English town in Haslemere, Surrey in 2014.
A Cambridge graduate who worked in the corporate world for a number of years, Karen wanted to show her three young daughters that women can work and still be there for the family. By setting up her own Bright & Beautiful business Karen will be able to work flexible hours, managing a team of housekeepers to deliver ethical, professional and eco-friendly cleaning, tidying and laundry services.
Karen, 41, says:
"I have been incredibly lucky to have lived abroad in some fantastic places for the past ten years. But it has also taught me that there really is no place like home and I’m so happy to be able to come back to the UK, settle in Haslemere and to start my own business.
Like many women I wanted a way of working that didn't put me into conflict with being a mum; the years go by so quickly and I don't want to miss out on my girls growing up. Running my own Bright & Beautiful business gives me the flexibility I need and I am really pleased that we will also be able to offer child friendly hours to our professional housekeepers, so it can work for all of us.
My home is very much my sanctuary and I love making it look and feel clean and cosy, but not everyone has the time to do that. We know that a million more people are now using cleaners than a decade ago, thanks to our increasingly busy lives, and we want to give people their hugely important leisure time back by taking on all of those cleaning, tidying and ironing jobs that eat into their free time and weekends."
Karen’s new Bright & Beautiful business will also be supporting Dreams Come True, a national charity based in Liphook that works hard to make dreams come true for children and young people with serious and life-limiting conditions.
Bright & Beautiful is an award-winning business model that was founded by entrepreneur Rachel Ray in 2007. A busy working mum herself, Rachel spotted a gap in the market for a domestic cleaning company that provided full fair employment rights for its team, non-toxic cleaning products and an exceptional housekeeping service for its clients. Since then the business has grown from strength to strength with franchisees around the UK employing carefully vetted professional housekeepers and servicing thousands of clients.
