Preschool Music Education in the Spotlight for Under Fives in Newcastle

A local ambitious mum is helping local toddlers to feel the beat with her fun and energetic music and movement classes.

Having recently purchased a Jo Jingles franchise for the Newcastle area, Lindsay Moodie is set on making her musical mark with the little ones. Worlds apart from her previous career in sales support and purchasing, Lindsay has made the transition from the corporate world, to inspiring young children and babies with the power of music and song.

With her classes taking place throughout the local area, including in Cramlington, Morpeth, Gosforth, Bedlington and Newcastle, Lindsay hopes to inspire and mesmerise babies and young children with her bright and cheery ‘Jo Doll’ mascot which she will use along with a range of props, instruments and songs to encourage musical participation from preschool children and their parents.

Lindsay explains:
"My previous job gave me a great insight into running a business.  After attending Jo Jingles classes with my own daughter, I was amazed at the difference being exposed to music from a young age could make. I wanted more flexibility and the chance to run my own business, so when the opportunity came up to buy the local Jo Jingles franchise I knew that I had the credentials and the passion to make it a success."

Lindsay believes strongly that music and song can make the world of difference in terms of early years’ development for preschool children and she has already recruited a new class teacher to help her develop her business in the region further.

Lindsay continues:
"Research from scientists has shown that babies can remember melodies they have heard in the womb even a month after they are born, so you are never too young to start benefiting from regular exposure to music. I hope that my classes will inspire parents to recognise that singing to your baby can also help develop the early processes that will give him/her the tools they need to investigate the world, such as language, creativity and social skills."

What Our Franchisees Say

I had always wanted to run my own business and Jo Jingles has given me the opportunity to run a successful and profitable business from home enabling me to balance family life and work. Seeing the development and enjoyment the babies and children get from music is rewarding and I very much enjoy the teaching side of the business. I now have three teachers working with me, which has meant that I have been able to expand the classes and take on more nursery business, but more importantly, I like the fact that it’s not just me on my own any more, but a team which works well together.
