A growing Sheffield-based oven valeting firm has plans to expand with investment in new equipment and the recruitment of an additional valeter to keep up with increased demand.
Ovenu Sheffield South is looking to recruit a sub-contractor after experiencing year-on-year growth of 40%, with the firm hoping to double its workload to more than 1,000 oven valets a year.
Owner Phillip Turner currently averages between 10 and 12 oven valets per week and now plans to expand and cover the Chesterfield and Dronfield areas with a new addition to his team, which will include investing in a new vehicle and training.
"I am now in a position to grow the business and build on last year’s strong performance. The time is right to increase my workforce and expand into new areas to meet this increased demand, so I will be seeking additional support to take the business further forward.
It has been an enjoyable eight years in business for me and I am excited by what the future holds for the firm."
Last year Phillip, who previously worked as an estimator for shop fitting company, planned to retire but because of the positivity and increased demand, decided to continue in his role.
"I was at the stage where the business was performing well and I could take a step back from business and let someone younger carry the mantel. But I soon realised that I would miss the buzz of running my own firm and with an influx of enquiries and continued growth, I was even hungrier to succeed as I had never been in this position before."
Ovenu Sheffield South provides its environmentally-friendly service to homes and businesses in and around Sheffield, including Chesterfield, Clay Cross, North Wingfield, Wingerworth, Grassmoor, Hasland, Calow, Bolsover, Clowne, Creswell, Staveley, Brimington, Ashgate, Newbold, Whittington, Dronfield and Dronfield Woodhouse.
Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.
Rik Hellewell, Managing Director and Founder of Ovenu, said:
"I am delighted for Phillip that his firm is doing extremely well and that he is a position to expand. He has worked very hard to establish his business and is now reaping the rewards. I would like to wish him all the very best for the future and in his recruitment efforts."
The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
