Jo trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama before realising a career in music wasn’t necessarily for her and changed her life to become a Musical Minis Franchisee
Jo trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama before realising a career in music wasn’t necessarily for her. She was a successful manager for Carphone Warehouse, even winning the award of manager of the year for the Southern Division. After having her first child and reading about the benefits of music for a new born baby, she saw an advert for Musical Minis and instantly wanted to get involved. She fits her business around her other commitments, which include teaching at her local Sunday School and teaching music from home.
"Seeing babies and toddlers develop and progress each week and seeing the benefits that Musical Minis had, and is having on my own children, is what excites me most about this business. Jack, now 7, developed very good speech at an early age thanks to Musical Minis and both my children are very sociable and mix well.”
Part of Jo’s success with Musical Minis has been down to the details: she has always made an effort to add her own personal touch to the Musical Minis classes, all whilst keeping to the same proven format. She explains, “I have managed to put my own mark on the South Wales franchise in various ways including using a limited amount of Welsh language if possible, celebrating St. David’s day, using a story bag at story time and including my own teddy bears picnic session and party within the classes.”
“Jo is a pleasure to be around. Her hard working nature and ability to see opportunities makes her a real asset to the network and her business has gone from strength to strength because of it.”
