Bita Nafissi tells us about her decision to start her Tatty Bumpkin business in Hampstead in September 2014.
Bita Nafissi from Tatty Bumpkin in Hampstead has been running her business since September 2014.
I come from a PA background and after years of organising and doing for others I really wanted to focus on putting all my energy into something that was my own business. I knew if I put half the effort I put in in my job as a PA I would do well.
I started looking at owning a franchise and came across Tatty Bumpkin. I did my research and followed the company for nearly 2 years. I finally took the plunge and attended one of their discovery days and loved it. I thought if I was a child I would love to do this class and from that day I made the decision to invest in the Tatty Bumpkin franchise.
Before I knew it I was writing up my business plan and researching the world of babies and young children as I don’t have any children of my own. Within 2 months the deal was done and I was the proud owner of my own business.
It took me a couple of months to give up my full time job but since I have I haven’t looked back. I’m not saying it’s easy but it’s definitely not impossible. Especially when you have so much support both from HQ and from all the other franchisees, we were all once in the same place so we help each other wherever we can even if it’s just to say it’s going to be ok.
