Meet a local Countrywide Signs owner Tyler Smith

13th October 2013

Tyler Smith knows a thing or two about hard graft. Not only has he owned a Countrywide Signs business in Leicester since 2003, but he’s also a champion body builder.

Tyler knows a thing or two about hard graft. Not only has he owned a Countrywide Signs business in Leicester since 2003, but he’s also a champion body builder. Something that comes in handy when he’s erecting some of those larger signs!

Countrywide Signs - Tyler Smith"It’s really in the last three years that I’ve taken my body building seriously," says Tyler. "I work out for 2 hours every day, come rain or shine. I don’t always feel like it but the buzz I get after is always worth the effort. It’s about being disciplined and having a goal in mind."

And the hard work is paying off. Tyler recently placed third in the London Championships, second in the Northern Championships and first in Midlands Championships – his hometown event. And the discipline and commitment it takes to become a successful body builder can be seen in Tyler’s approach to running his business.

Tyler acquired Countrywide Signs Leicester with his father, Simon Smith, in 2003. The business appealed to Tyler as he was looking for an opportunity that would offer him more flexibility and freedom.

"I wanted be out and about, working with different people, rather than chained to a desk and dealing with emails all day," Tyler confirms.

The first few years saw some rapid expansion, taking on their first employee after just a year. And they’ve since gone from strength-to-strength. Something Tyler puts down to their focus on quality.

"We differentiate ourselves by being the best at putting up signs quickly and professionally", Tyler proudly states. "This quality of service, combined with Countrywide Signs’ professional Board Management System and added value extras like QR codes has built us a strong customer base with our local estate agents and letting agents."

Looking to the future, Tyler’s long-term ambition is to keep growing his business and to compete in top-level national body building competitions. With the drive and commitment he shows in every area of his life, you wouldn’t bet against him.
