New OSCAR Franchisee in the Spotlight
Oscar Franchisee: Chris Towey

Which area does your OSCAR business cover?

South Warwickshire; Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa.

OSCAR - Chris ToweyWhat was your career before OSCAR?

I had worked as an Internal Auditor for 19 years in various industries (Retail, Wholesale, Leisure, Mobile Telecommunications, NHS and latterly Banking) and really, really wanted a change!

What made you decide on a career change to run your own OSCAR Business?

Both of my parents have died in the last few years and this had a significant impact on how I wanted to move forward with life. I decided it was time to do a job I wanted to do rather than a job I thought I should do.

I had been looking at various business opportunities and decided that a franchise was the best way for me to move forward. I found Oscars and the rest is history!

What was it that made you choose an OSCAR franchise business?

I liked the fact that the business model was about attracting new customers and then continuing that business relationship with repeat business. In addition, I felt that the level of support offered by Oscars was excellent and the feedback I received from existing franchisees was consistently excellent.

The process to join Oscars was smooth, with a great team guiding me through the process.  I also liked the Ajax system – anything that makes it easier to run my business is great.

I don’t have a pet at the moment, but I tried the food with a friend's dog, and it loved it – more so than the other samples they'd tried.

What has been your favourite part of your OSCAR training so far?

All of it! The training at Preston was excellent and the field training I am now receiving has been equally as good.

What pets do you have?

None at the moment. However, we have wanted a dog for a long time, so we will definitely get one now. We have decided on the breed – Miniature Schnauzer – and are just arguing about what we will call it! If any franchisees or customers know of a good breeder, I would be really grateful if they could please let me have the details?

If you could be any pet, what would you be and why?

I get the impression that Otto the Labrador (the chief taster at OSCAR HQ) has the perfect dogs life: living in a dog food factory and getting spoilt rotten by all of the Oscar team. What more could a dog want?
